Downsizing doesn’t mean giving up the luxury of a beautiful, functional, kitchen.

In this project, we were creative with the available square footage by maximizing the use of the two walls, and hiding a butler’s pantry behind the kitchen. This is accessed through the pantry cabinet, and was previously the old mudroom from the garage.

The kitchen is capped off with tons of storage, built in appliances, and a huge island with seating.

This kitchen was one of my favourite projects of 2022. This 1952 house was due for a massive update.

The project began by opening up the closed in kitchen, allowing it to become the focal point of the new open concept living area.

We had to get creative due to structural limitations, but still managed to pack in as much storage as possible, without making the small kitchen feel claustrophobic.

Sleek white doors keep the kitchen feeling minimalistic, while the wood features warm up the entire room.

Open concept isn’t everything.

This traditional kitchen isn’t large when it comes to square footage, but we took advantage of the 10′ ceilings to give the room a grand feel.

This highly functional kitchen features several large sections of available countertop for working, a long island with seating, and a coffee bar/beverage center.

We also made sure the large sink window remained the focal point of the entire design. Maximizing natural light and bringing in the outdoors helps to make this closed in kitchen feel wide open.

This kitchen will soon form the foundation of a large open concept in a brand new custom home build.

This small space is packed with details- from the copper sink and range hood and half-moon island, to the walk-in pantry.

The rounded features are carried throughout the home. In the kitchen, this is picked up in the island and arched party door.

This home was a challenge right from the get go. Narrow hallways, numerous doors, awkward windows, and lots of corners.

We transformed this dated Pittsburgh kitchen with white and wood cabinets, a checkered black and white floor, and soapstone countertops.

The key to this space was functional storage, adequate countertop space, and expanding the kitchen into the new butlers pantry.

This project is all about working with what you have…sort of. These clients had an original log home and were just completing the framing of a large addition. That gave me free reign on the kitchen design, and window placement.

This kitchen is all about traditional elements brought together for a timeless design. It features an oversize island, beautiful window wall behind the sink, and a custom built range hood- all with little details sprinkled throughout the kitchen.

The kitchen is finished off with an arch shaped entertainment area in a complimentary color palette with a real log backdrop.

This project quickly became an entire main floor renovation. We removed the two main dividing walls to create a large open concept between the kitchen, dining, and living rooms.

This allowed us to extend the kitchen along the entire back wall, creating a coffee bar and extra pantry storage at the back of the dining area.

The most challenging aspect was the large bulkhead on the fridge wall. To mitigate its effect, we moved the fridge underneath and used narrow vertical lift cabinets for extra storage.

Two of everything can be more exciting.

This home started with a separate dining room and kitchen, but also had a large eat-in kitchen space. With no need for two large seating areas, we combined the spaces for a statement making kitchen.

The kitchen is broken down in two areas – work and play. The main working area is all contained at the back of the space, with efficiency and function in mind. The large front island focuses on entertainment with more space to gather and spread out.

The white, black, and wood tones will always keep this kitchen looking classic and timeless.
